What started as an annual outdoor 4-on-4 hockey tournament has grown into a series of events that bring people together—all in support of Little Warriors.

Why We Do It

From humble beginnings—when a few U of A medical students sought to blend connection and charity—MCCT has grown into a beloved Edmonton tradition. We’ve collectively raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, united by the belief that play with purpose matters.

Each event fosters community bonds, supports healing and resilience for children in need, and offers numerous ways to participate—whether you’re skating, golfing, filling in a bracket, or supporting through engraved recognition.

Our Signature Events

  • 4‑on‑4 Outdoor Hockey Tournament
The heart of MCCT! Over the years—and now into our 22nd annual tournament—we’ve welcomed students, alumni, and community members to hit the ice in competitive and recreational divisions alike. Past tournaments have raised over $250,000 to support Little Warriors.

  • Med vs. Law Hockey Game
A thrilling, on‑ice showdown between the Faculties of Medicine and Law. A highlight event that includes a puck drop by distinguished deans and post-game festivities to deepen our spirit of friendly rivalry.

  • Golf Tournament
A more relaxed yet equally impactful gathering, where teams enjoy a round on the green while raising funds in support of Little Warriors.

  • March Madness Bracket Challenge
A light-hearted but competitive spin on the basketball season: participants fill out brackets, donate to play, and vie for exciting prizes. It’s proof that fun and fundraising go hand in hand.

  • Engraving Fundraiser
A meaningful way to leave a legacy while giving back. Donate to engrave your mug/bottle with the University of Alberta Medicine logo.
